Wayne Sampson
"Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees." Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson
It is with a very heavy heart that I have to tell you that today (Feb. 1, 2016), early in the morning, Wayne Sampson crossed over the river and is now resting in the shade of the trees.
Wayne Milton Sampson was born to Wilmer Louis Sampson and Mary Lucille Pendleton on November 1, 1938 in Bakersfield, California. He moved with his family to Oklahoma during the second World War, and attended to high school in Tulsa. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1958 with his degree in Geology and Accounting, and again with a degree in Accounting/Economics from the University of Tulsa in 1960. He began work for NTC of America as VP of Corporate Services from July 1962 to July 1991. From 1991 to 1995 he moved to Mexico, Missouri where his father and mother had resided since 1993, and he became the President/CEO of Oliver Trucking of Mexico. From 1995 to 1998, he was Owner/Vice President of Premier Trucks of Mexico. Wayne was into all aspects of the history for which he spent countless years pouring his heart and soul into teaching others about the true meaning of the word, "SOB". Wayne was a member of both the SCV and the SUVCW, in which most cases gave him the name SOB: Sons of Both, or Cross dresser. He always shared his time either in his cavalry blues, or his grey sack coats. He was a true trooper, a friend, and a mentor to all. In some ways he will always be with us, either in our hearts, or in our laughter. Wayne received his wings on February 1, 2016 after a health battle, and the lords angels brought him home. Never forget those whom you lose, for they are always there, helping along the way.
